Cathodic Protection Foreman


The position is for the performance of field Cathodic Protection (CP) services, including completion of field surveys and system troubleshooting, and supervision of CP repairs and installations.

Surveys include obtaining measurements and evaluating the results for unprotected, galvanic, and impressed current cathodically protected metallic structures. Example of structures include underground or on-grade tanks, underground pipelines, shoreline structures, and/or terminal structures at locations such as service stations, storage terminals, power generating facilities.

Installations or repairs involve line locating, excavation, and installation of anodes, cables, reference cells, or related CP components.

The position would include potential advancement and/or promotions with commensurate compensation based on job performance and development of additional job responsibilities. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check prior to employment. Benefits package to include 401k, health, life, and dental insurance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Performing, directing, or otherwise supervising CP surveys, troubleshooting, repairs, or installations in outdoor, hot or cold, high and low noise, environments wearing proper safety equipment, in accordance with best practices and regulatory, customer, or company requirements.

Performing physical activities including lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 30 lbs. daily, walking, standing, climbing, balancing, grasping, manipulating and/or assembling tools, and miscellaneous small tool use including battery or AC powered devices.

Operating construction equipment including concrete saws, truck-mounted augers, vacuum excavators, and additional equipment will be required for repairs or installation; however, equipment training can be provided.

In addition to performing the surveys, duties will involve generating field sketches, filling out data tables or work orders, and completing safety documentation. Duties may also include communicating testing results directly or coordinating field tasks with customers or contractors.

General experience with construction and the principles of electricity. Training with specific equipment and company procedures as well as safety equipment to be provided on-the-job, as necessary.


  • A valid Driver’s License and transportation to our Pompton Lakes, NJ office. Transportation to/from job sites to be provided.
  • NACE CP Tester, Corrosion Technician, or higher Certification
  • Ability to understand and follow safety rules, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work as a team under the direction of management to carry out assigned jobs and tasks.
  • Willingness to learn proper equipment use and work procedures.
  • Willingness to follow instructions to complete work in a timely manner as directed or to notify appropriate personnel of alternative planning.

Relevant Training

The following training/credentials are preferred; however, the below will be provided, as necessary:

  • NJ DEP Corrosion Specialist License
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (T.W.I.C.) Card
  • OSHA CFR 1910 & 1926 Safety & Health Training
  • 24 or 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Training
