Installation of Test Stations on Cathodic Protection Systems or CP Test Stations

 

Cadweld one test lead to each tank.

 

Cadweld one additional wire to each tank and bring into test station.  Mark all leads for ID.

 

Bring one anode lead from each tank to test station and bug together in test station.

 

Connect all leads to terminal board and identify.

 

Set test station in concrete allowing a minimum of 2 feet slack in wires

 

Installation of Magnesium Anodes

 

Remove marked top of anode carton and pull out wire.

 

Do not handle anode by lead wire.

 

Set anode carton into position with soil to hold in place.

 

Puncture carton and wet down anode with at least 3-5 pails of water.

 

Pull wire into position for cadwelding.  Bug additional No. 12 wire, if needed.

 

Cadweld wire to tank and coat exposed cadweld with tarmastic so no copper is exposed.
