Integrity Testing & Inspections

Owning or operating a bulk storage facility comes with many responsibilities. Whether the product is petroleum, various chemicals, or even waste water, handling hazardous materials requires regulatory compliance, standards adherence, and safety management.

Many of our clients reach out to us for integrity testing and inspections in order to comply with federal EPA requirements or state Environmental departments for bulk hazardous substance storage. While this satisfies the obvious concern for protection of the environment, gaps in a facility's Process Safety Management (PSM) program that does not include process equipment or accesses can leave an opening for the potential of harm to human health.

In 2015, OSHA released an enforcement policy to address the application of Recognized And Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) in the PSM Standard. Adherence to this policy, among other provisions, requires inspections and tests to be performed on all equipment in PSM-covered processes, including those not otherwise covered by environmental compliance.

PCA Engineering, Inc. has continued to use our experience and knowledge with consensus standards or documents, and applicable engineering practices to perform the OSHA compliant integrity testing and inspections for our customers. In addition to meeting federal, state, and local requirements, we ensure that our inspections identify any issues that may result in potential hazards.
